I just wanted to know: am I the only one around here who doesn't like ''The Great Mouse Detective''? Maybe it's because I only say it once grown up, but I find the film annoying as possible - it's just what I think, no offence to anyone. And as a fan of Watson, I am always frustrated when he's portrayed as fat and imbecile (well, okay, it's not Watson, it's Dr. David Q. Dawson, but still.). What do you think of it? Many loves, I am a big fan
B-but… b-b-but… but…
In Dawson’s defense, the film (and the book might I add) were written in homage to the Basil (<— recognise the name?) Rathbone and Nigel Bruce series. Hence why Dawson is fat and bumbling, much like Bruce was.
With that in mind maybe give it another chance?
